Public Sails
You’ll be enjoying the water with a few other guests on board + one of our captains. Public Sails are limited to 6 guests per boat.Private Sails

Our fleet consists of 40ft, 42ft and 46ft modern-day sailing yachts.

All ages are welcome. For anyone under the age of 13, a life jacket must be worn. We have a wide selection of children’s life jackets available in various sizes that we provide.

It is common to observe sea lions, pelicans, cormorants, and sometimes even pods of dolphins during your trip. Please note that whale sightings are more likely during their specific migration period from December to April. Absolutely. We will try our best to accommodate any special request you may have. Just give us a call and one of our crew members will help you with logistics.

Dress as you would for walking around town and bring a lightweight jacket/sweatshirt or windbreaker with you. Soft-soled shoes are required (no high heels).
We have blankets onboard, & you can browse our store at check-in for sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, jackets & more.

Yes! Every single one of our boats is equipped with onboard bathrooms, which are meticulously cleaned multiple times throughout the day to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.

You are more than welcome to bring your own beverages and food aboard. However, please keep in mind that you are on a sailboat that may lean or tilt. It is advisable to choose food items that are easy to eat with your hands, as they are more suitable for the sailing experience.

No Smoking. No Red Wine. No Hard Alcohol.
We are a federally regulated business and drugs are strictly prohibited (including Marijuana) while underway or at the marina. No Exceptions!

Sailboats are not known for making people seasick. Our sailboats provide a smooth sailing experience, but you know yourself best. Just make sure you take sea sickness medication at least 2 hours prior to your departure.
Cancellation & Weather Policy

Very flexible. Reservations are 100% refundable if canceled outside of 72 hours of the date of the departure.

Sail San Diego does not operate in unsafe weather conditions, but a light rain shower is not a deterrent. The Captain will assess the weather and should the Captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the charter, the charter may be rescheduled or it will be canceled.
- If a trip is canceled by Sail San Diego for any reason, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip or receiving a full refund.
