Don’t Fear the Purple Tier!

The State of California announced this week that San Diego will be moved into what they call the “purple tier” due to a reported increase in Covid-19 infections. Under the purple tier, retail stores must reduce their capacity to 25%, and restaurants, places of worship & gyms must switch to outdoor-only activities.

The good news: Sail San Diego is not a restaurant, place of worship, gym, or retail store. We’re an outdoor activity, and therefore the new “purple tier” restrictions will not be affecting our operations. Sail San Diego will remain open

Since our re-opening after the major Covid-19 shutdown of early 2020, Sail San Diego has implemented & practiced a very strict reopening policy. This policy includes daily temperature checks of all employees, mask usage enforcement, extra disinfecting & sanitizing of our boats & facilities, limited capacity on our sailing trips & the temporary suspension of all amenities that would usually be touched by multiple guests.
